Goodbye 2022, Hello 2023
We reflect on 2022 as one of our most successful years yet. We’ve hosted incredible events and guests at the Milford House, and our ICCC family and friends continue to grow.
We began 2022 by reintroducing the ICCC Catholic Mass in a modified format. We had suspended the program from 2020 to 2021 due to the global pandemic. Now, guests can look forward to frequent masses with with coffee and sweets after the mass.
After two years, we also brought back one of our most loved and popular events: the Dine Around. We kicked off the series at Amalfi Ristorante Italiano & Bar in April and hosted another gathering at ROMA, An Italian Eatery in October. These events were just as loved as our Aperitivo Italiano series. With your love and support, we were able to host eight wine tastings, and we have more planned in 2023!
Throughout the year, we encouraged guests to attend our 2022 Italian Contemporary Film Series to view Italy’s compelling film legacy. We showcased captivating, newly released movies that had high reviews among our attendees. We are happy to continue the series well into 2023 with a new collection of enjoyable films. We took into consideration how peoples’ lifestyles changed after the pandemic and began to offer more online and hybrid Italian language classes. The ICCC language school is always active, and our classes are well
attended, thanks to our incredible instructors who work hard year-round to offer and maintain a high-quality level of teaching.
The second half of 2022 was full of one-of-a-kind events and exciting collaborations. Our biggest event of the year, Celebrating the Jewels of Italy Fashion Show and Luncheon, in September was a huge success. We are thankful for our amazing donors and supporters. It warms our hearts to know that we have the support of the Houston community to continue promoting all things Italian, as well as expand the ICCC scholarship program for deserving high school and college students.
In November, we hosted the annual ICCC Open House. It had an amazing turnout! All guests had smiles from ear to ear because our vendors provided a great experience. Thank you to Acqua Panna and S.Pellegrino, TuttiLili, SweetCup, Dionysus, Terramar Imports, Yeti Sunshine, Baratti & Milano, Aroma Italiano, Tosca, and Aroma.
We hosted two events at the Milford House sponsored by the Consulate General of Italy in Houston. On the occasion of the 22nd Italian Language Week in the World, we partnered with the Department of International Studies at Texas A&M University and the Consulate General of Italy of Houston to host “Sing a Song! Lyrics and Rhythms in Italian Contemporary Music,” presented by Dr. Fabiana Cecchini. We also partnered with the Consulate General of Italy to celebrate World Week of Italian Cuisine with Dr. Veroni of Accademia Italiana della Cucina and Chef Roberto Crescini of Davanti Ristorante.
We are so grateful we celebrated all our accomplishments at the 2022 ICCC Christmas Party with our generous members and honored guests. Grazie mille for all your support and admiration for the ICCC. Stay tuned for more exciting and memorable events. We can’t wait to see you at the Milford House this year!
