Celebrating 100 Years of the Italian Air Force

The Italian Cultural & Community Center (ICCC) of Houston collaborated with the Consulate General of Italy in Houston and the Italian Air Force from Sheppard Air Force Base to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Italian Air Force on the week of May 29.

The “100 Years of the Italian Air Force” exhibit was free and open to the public from Tuesday, May 30 to Friday, June 2. Wednesday evening was particularly special. The Milford House was filled with enthusiastic guests eager to meet the Italian Air Force representatives and listen to presentations by Lt.Col. Cerri Italian Air Force Representative Sheppard AFB, TX and ITAF and Space: Col. Villadei Italian Air Force Representative – Axiom. At the end of the presentations, Lt.Col. Cerri presented Consul General Mauro Lorenzini and ICCC Executive Director with a Cento Anni dell’Aeronautica Militare patch and certificate. Erika Myers presented Lt.Col. Cerri with a certificate of appreciation in return.

The honorable gift exchanges were followed by hors d’oeuvres from Amalfi Ristorante Italiano & Bar and the screening of the film I Cacciatori del Cielo. The ICCC would like to thank Amalfi Ristorante Italiano & Bar for catering the hors d’oeuvres for this special occasion.

The ICCC is thankful for the Consulate General of Italy in Houston and the Italian Air Force for collaborating with the Center on brining the exhibit for Houstonians to enjoy.
