The Milford House is 100 years old, as of 2023. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and seats amidst Houston’s beautiful Museum District at 1101 Milford Street.

The Milford House offers elegance and sophistication at an unbeatable value. There is space for intimate seating as well as a banquet hall, which seats up to 120 people. The house can accommodate the simplest event to a formal reception.

There is ample space for musicians. The hall is fully equipped with sound and a projection system is available upon request. There is also an attached commercial kitchen. Outside caterers are welcome. Your event can be held indoors or outside on our spacious lawn.

The Venue is Gorgeous and has Several Different Rooms Which Made it Easy to Stage Everything

We had our wedding on April 21 with a reception at the Milford House and it was perfect! Ray was very helpful in answering our questions and the venue was very flexible with our schedule. We were able to set up on Friday and then get back in Saturday morning to receive our flowers and cakes. The venue is gorgeous and has several different rooms which made it easy to stage everything and allowed for guests to break off and talk with each other in different areas. We would highly recommend the Milford House to anyone looking for a mid-sized wedding venue in a gorgeous historical home.

We Heard so Many Times, “How Did You Find This Place?!? It’s Great!”

“The Milford House is the Italian Cultural Center of Houston. It is a beautiful little house near the medical center. They offer their venue, tables and chairs. It was perfect for our needs. The maximum seating is 120. There is a stage for dancing or additional seating. They also have a kitchen for use. If you have a licensed caterer come in, they can use the kitchen/ovens at no cost. If not, one of their staff members is available for “supervision” of the ovens for your use. Everyone loved the place and we heard so many times, “how did you find this place?!? It’s great!” Just a note, on-site parking is limited, but there is ample parking on the street. Also, no candles. You can use sterno for the catering, though.”

The Value, Location and Flexibility Truly Make The Milford House a Place I Would Recommend

The Milford House was the site for our ceremony and reception. We love the flexibility of the home and the ability to hand select our own vendors! Ray, the property manager, was professional, courteous and knowledgable. We also loved the location. Looking back I wish we would have been more on top of the request for maintaining the landscaping. The grass was a little long and some of the tree limbs/hedges needed to be cut back. Definitely not a deal breaker but a tip to pass on to future brides. The value, location and flexibility truly make the Milford House a place I would recommend.

Perfect for a Smaller Wedding Reception or any Event

“We used this venue for my mom’s birthday party in Houston. It is a beautiful venue! It would be perfect for a smaller wedding reception or any event. We had about 80 people which was perfect. You can bring in your own catering and alcohol and the venue is very affordably priced (especially since you get the use of the whole house). It has a great historic feel to it, but has modern amenities. It was a great place!”
