The ICCC in Houston is since 2010 one of the four Centers in the USA who can offer the PLIDA certification.

PLIDA (Dante Alighieri Italian Language Project) is an international certification issued by the Società Dante Alighieri in Rome for the recognition and acknowledgment of six different levels of competence in the Italian language. The different levels, established by the Common European Framework for Languages, allow candidates to take the test from a beginner level (A1) to a near native level (C2).

Having this certification allows non native speakers of Italian to officially demonstrate their knowledge of the language both in a workplace and at university. In Italy it is recognized by the Foreign Affairs, the Education, and the Labor Department.
