History

In August 2003, the Board of Directors of the Italian Cultural and Community Center hosted the first annual Rekindle the Flame Gala and Auction. This event was established to honor the life-long achievements of individuals of Italian descent who exemplify character, leadership, community service and most of all the Italian Sprit.

As Italian-Americans we share a unique and magnificent heritage that spans hundreds of years. Those who are privileged to be the sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters of this courageous immigrant generation have been blessed to bear the fruits of our ancestor’s labors. It is our responsibility to individually make it a point to carry the torch that bears the flame of our cultural identity so that generation after generation can share in the values that we cherish and know what it means to be an Italian-American.

The Italian Cultural and Community Center’s Gala is about making sure that the spirit, symbolized through the flame, is always rekindled so that every generation for years to come can share in its glow.
